Why does the fuel pump on a 93 dodge grand caravan keep failing? - carter fuel pumps

My father has a 1993 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3 liter that we replace the filter and pump twice. Once an Airtex pump and once with a bomb from Carter, but not very fast. The Airtex not in 3 weeks, the street and not in about 3 months. I wonder whether something else could be causing this, cleaning the tank very well and checked the lines. I would be glad of your help.
